Overview

Olympic Academy is a specialized program providing comprehensive special education services to students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.

  • We create a student-centered environment based on trust, care, and belonging. We honor the lived experiences of our students, families, staff, and communities. This creates supportive learning spaces that recognize each student’s strengths and challenges. When students feel safe and understood, they grow.
  • We include social, emotional, and academic learning in all that we do. We create learning paths through collaboration across disciplines and school teams. These paths help students build self-control, empathy, and problem-solving skills. This leads to successful moves back to their home schools and communities.
  • We provide challenging, engaging instruction designed to help every learner, and we maintain high expectations and build critical thinking skills. This prepares students for lifelong success. We speak and act with respect to lift one another up, strengthen school culture, and collectively advocate for equitable outcomes for all.

About Expedition Behavioral Education

Olympic Academy is a program of ESD 113's Expedition Behavioral Education. Expedition helps students grow through structured programs, skilled staff, and strong partnerships with families and schools. Our mission is to teach students with social, emotional, or behavioral challenges the skills necessary to achieve greater success in their home schools and communities.

We empower school districts by providing tailored support and resources to help students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges succeed in their least restrictive environments. We offer three connected supports: Olympic AcademySummit Academy, and Pathfinder Services

Our principles of professional practice serve as the foundation for achieving our program goals and ensuring positive outcomes for every student:

  • Student-centered empowerment
  • Collaborative partnership
  • Evidence-based excellence
  • Professional growth and advocacy

These principles represent the shared commitments and daily actions of all staff across our programs. They guide how we engage with students, families, and school partners, ensuring that our supports are individualized, research-based, and rooted in respect. By aligning our professional practice with these core principles, we create safe, inclusive, and effective learning environments. These principles are not just ideals: they are the concrete actions we take each day to help students succeed in their home schools and communities.
